Who should apply?

Any established, expanding or start-up farm business that wishes to analyze farm financials and become equipped with necessary information and benchmarking data to scale up or address emerging business opportunities.

To apply you must have

  • A Growing Your Farm Profits (GYFP) Workshop and Action Plan Review within the last five years (or equivalent)

Eligible activities and expenditures

  • Third-party advisory costs to complete a farm financial analysis
    • For new producers, a financial analysis may be more projection-based, including an assessment of the business opportunity

Ineligible activities and expenditures

  • All ineligible activities and expenditures as detailed here
  • Any activities or costs relating to outcomes of the assessment including but not limited to certification fees, legal fees, licenses, registration fees, investment or banking charges and fees
  • In-kind contributions

Available cost-share

50 per cent*, up to a maximum of $2,500*

 

Required documentation

  • Certificate of completion for a GYFP Workshop* and a copy of your GYFP Action Plan
  • Quote or proposal from a third-party organization or consultant, detailing services to be provided, outcomes and costs

Merit assessment criteria

  • Project provides increased capacity to plan for and manage business growth, and to make strategic decisions as they relate to farm business goals
  • Ability of project to address a need identified in your GYFP Action Plan
  • Project helps address regional (e.g., northern), sector or community level needs
